SKETCH: Printer Maintenance

When to perform Printer Maintenance

It is recommended that the maintenance routine be performed after every 30 days of normal use or if the printer has been unused for a few months. 

What you will need

  • PTFE based Grease (A white packet was included in the accessory kit)
    • Use a small amount each time you perform the maintenance routine, this packet should last a while.

 

Applying grease to the gantry rods 

1) Add a small amount of the grease to the upper and lower gantry rods on either side of the carriage. 

 

2) Manually move the carriage back and forth to evenly distribute the grease upon the rods.


 

Applying grease to the Z-rods

1) Add a small amount of grease to the front and back Z-rods (4 rods in total). 

2) On the touchscreen, navigate to 
          Settings --> Utilities --> Utilities page 2 --> Move

3) Use the arrows on the right side under "Z" to move the gantry all the way down and up
