Replicator+: Error 57 - Temperature Sag Watchdog

Error 57 - Temperature Sag Watchdog

  • Temperature was at the target temperature but has dropped 20C below target
  • Check to see if the filament fan and fan duct are present - Too much fan on the extruder nozzle will cause this error.

This error usually means that the fan duct on the Smart Extruder+ has fallen off. Check to see that the fan duct is still present as shown below:

There may be an issue with the connection between the extruder and the extruder carriage or with the internal heating components of the extruder.

If the printer recognizes the extruder is attached, click Resume to see if you can attempt to print again. If you are unable to resume printing, open a case with MakerBot Support.

If the printer does not recognize that the carriage is attached, detach the Smart Extruder+ and inspect the rows of pins on the back. Check to see if any of the pins appear damaged or bent.

You should be able to gently compress the pins and feel them release back into place.

If the pins appear to be working fine check the cooling duct surrounding the extruder nozzle.

The extruder on the left has the cooling duct circled in yellow.
If it is securely in place select Resume and complete your print.  If you are unable to complete the print please contact MakerBot Support

If the cooling duct tape is not place attempt to snap it back to place. The cooling duct should not come loose. If you are unable to do so please contact MakerBot Support
