How to add gmail email to IVSEC recorder

To add gmail email to an IVSEC recorder to receive email notification there are a number of setting you need to configure.

1. 2-step verification needs to be enabled on your gmail account

2. Create an use and app password

The next step is to add the email to your IVSEC recorder. Login to the recorder using a web browser and refer to image below

1. Click "Remote Setting"

2. Click "Email" under the network menu

3. Click "Email configuration"

4. Enable "email" and fill out all of the email details

 

Encryption: SSL or TLS

SMTP Port: If using SSL use 465. If using TLS use 587

SMTP Server: smtp.gmail.com

Username: enter the gmail email address that will be used to send the email

Password: Enter the "APP Password" you created earlier

Sender: This is the name that will appear on the receiving email

Receiver: This is the email that will receive the email

 

5. Click "Save"

6. Click "Test"

7. An "Email test Successful" message will appear if the email is now working. press OK
