Can you have 30 x Akuvox NS-2 devices in one network connection.

Yes, you can have 30 x Akuvox NS-2 in one network connection.

Akuvox NS-2

Attached pdf's shows multiple units per floor.

The very important part is that if you do not use a 48V/60W Power supply (AK-HDR-60-SPEC), you can only run fewer screens. For example, using a 24V/60W power supply will mean they can have only 3 screens.

This is referenced in the second attached email (same name)

Questions and Answers related to this solution listed below:

  • In the description for the C313W-2 it says that you can “Connect up to 6 pcs of Akuvox 2-wire IP intercom devices”
Does that mean you can do 2 x R20A-2 and 4 x C313W-2, and connect into another NS-2 ? Correct, maximum 6 devices.
  • Does the NS-2 count as a device ? No, another NS-2 daisy chained to current one will not count as a device.
  • Taking one ethernet connection and plugging it into the first NS-2 on Level 1 in your diagram, how many floors can that connection support ? That is not about floor, it is about how many NS-2, we recommend not more than 30.
  • Can the NS-2 connect an infinite amount of other NS-2 ? Or is there a limit ? Recommend no more than 30 in a group (group means one among the 30 NS-2 need connect to a Lan cable). Of course if there is more device you can just build another group.
  • According to the datasheet, the NS-2 can be powered by either 24V DC or 48V DC. Yes, but to make 6 device work, it is better use 48V power supply.
Does using a 24V DC power supply change the number of devices supported ? Yes, will be 3 or 4 if use 24V power supplier.
  • Does each C313W-2 that is connected to the same C313-2 get a unique address/identifier to call, or are all C313W-2 assigned the same address/identifier ? It will be like normal C313S, each C313-2 will get an IP address.
  • Does only the first NS-2 that is connected to the ethernet get set to Host? Yes, one NS-2 need connect to a router.
  • Is every device that connects into another NS-2 also a Host as well as being a Slave ? They will have IP address, there is not slave or main concept.
